<2013.06> I Realized How Precious Fellowship was After Thailand

Jasper koo | Canada     April 13 - 16     Conference     The 6th Thailand Bible Conference was held from April 13th to the 16th. About 250 people attended from regions throughout Thailand, as well as about 25 brothers and sisters from Korea. There were 3 sermons held each day, in the morning we watched Romans sermon, then in the afternoon had live lectures from Mr. Choi in Korean and Mr. Song and Mr. Jeon in English. After the morning sermon on second and third day, Q&A sessions were held.     After the evening sermon, there were fellowship meeting, we had a meeting between all young adults on the first night; a meeting between the Korean brothers and sisters on the second night (there wasn’t supposed to be a meeting but it happened naturally); and a meeting with all the brothers and sisters on the last night.       The Korean brothers and sisters helped with sermon translations, taking care of children, cooking and cleaning at the Big House, registration, and also presented hymns at the evening sermon.     On the 16th, a sermon was held in the morning, and communion and baptism in the afternoon. After communion, we had the newly born again brothers and sisters give their testimonies. We finished the conference by singing hymn, “God Be With You Till We Meet Again.”       Fellowship     During the conference, we didn’t get to have a lot of fellowship between the Korean brothers and sisters, and also with the rest of the Thai brothers and sisters. Due to the tight schedule, everyone concentrated on listening to the sermons and rested in order to do so.     While we were there, we got to understand more about Thailand’s culture. Some of the things we realized and understood were that Thai people are very independent, have a lot of pride, and don’t like to ask others for help. So they don’t think of meeting together as a group for fellowship. Therefore, it was a little difficult to have fellowship with other Thai brothers and sisters.     However, we got to meet some brothers and sisters who currently work for the spreading the gospel in Bangkok. They all come from regions that are hours away from Bangkok and they gave up their jobs to work for the fellowship. Four of them are 20 years old, away from their family. Brothers Petong and Petom could also have good jobs, but gave it up to work for the fellowship, and now play important roles in the Bankok fellowship.     They gave up their lives to work for the fellowship. They gave up their jobs and careers to work for the spreading the gospel, regardless if they get paid or not. They are all still really young. One brother is married and has a son, so money could be an issue, but not for him.     Getting to know them more and seeing their heart and faith reminded me about my life and made me think about what I should be doing in this world and where my interests lie in this world.     April 18     After lunch we went to a coffee shop with brothers Petong and Petom, and Bon, a sister from the Udon Tani. We talked about various issues, such as what to do when you have conflicts with other
