Kevin Ham | Canada       Unchaining MyselfThis year it was impressed upon my heart that this is indeed a happy new year. 2010 years ago, something amazing happened! As we memorized the song, “Greater Love Has No One Than This”, these thoughts naturally came to me after singing the words of that book over and over again. It is a tremendous blessing that started to move my heart back to God just a few months ago as my family was practically the only family who had not yet memorized the first verse of this song. As I listened to each family go up and sing the song, my heart became full of shame as well as full of love for all the brethren who were singing the song with their families. I marvel that my children are able to sing the words of this book in Korean without understanding any of it yet. They just follow and I know that in due time, it will be a powerful foundation for them in their lives when they are older.Ten years ago, I completed my medical residency and became a family doctor.  But a door opened up for me to start an Internet business. It was what I had wanted to do for my life, to practice medicine and help people, just as Dr. David Livingstone had done. But for some greater purpose, a door opened up for me to start an Internet business. Even though I did not know much about business or technology, I excelled above most of my peers and competitors. I gained success financially, in fame, in honor. and without fully realizing it, I came to start to depend on the success, on the finances, on the people around me instead of fully trusting God. The way of the world and its wisdom and how things should be done were being forced upon me and it made logical sense. I started to believe in myself and what I could do, what my team could do, what the business could do and I was slowly starting to forget about what God had done for me. As I grew rich in possessions, I often thought of the rich young lawyer who came to Jesus and asked what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus then asked him to sell all that he had, give it to the poor and then come
